AI Influencer Everyone on the planet is now an AI Influencer - easy peasy
While i am NO influencer, one of my friends casually asked, since you write and post on LI/Substack - whats your cadence? How often do you write and what do you write about
That made me think, what has become of this world today, and in a sad way.
For everyone has access to AI, a simple prompt injection and viola - a readymade story is available in seconds that you can post. Which is fully structured, no grammatical mistakes, conveys the point from multiple angles. Throw in an AI image and you have all the ingredients needed for a potentially Viral content in professional capacity on LI/Substack.
Do i actually want to write using AI to become an Influencer was the inner question i was posted with?
Astounding NO.
Do i Use AI tools, sure. Only to curate and brainstorm.
But
The prompt has its source in
- 48 hours of non-stop debugging to find that one invoice costing $57M
- 30+ hours of leading 40+ members on a DDOS attack call, with leadership all the way to SVP and deeply technical folks - to a solution
- Spending months, looking at patterns to identify drift that led to capacity planning/cost optimization
- and so on
These are SCARS that ALL of us go thru in our journey as an IT professional, some more than others. But these are extremely far and wide. If you got such STAR stories, even 5 of them in a single year, you have been in trenches most havent.
With this math, even if one spent 10-20-30 years, most you would have is 150 such stories. Sure, you could write 300-450 lessons learned based on that, assuming you have full recall value of every incident.
Even if you write just twice a week, you are literally done in 1-3 years at most.
What happens after Year “n”?
While my friend probably didnt appreciate this long lecture, I felt this was a good analysis in itself that warranted a story here.
AI has turned everyone into an Influencer, not just in IT, but every single field out there.
Use “personal/consumer” AI to improve and find ways to solve issues that took me 48 hours back in the day even smartphones weren’t even a thing, and solve it in 2.
I feel the vacuum AI will leave, once this chain of thought/writing is exhausted and it will, is like a tech-debt that can never be repaid by human race.
PS: NO AI was used to write/curate this post. We as a human race have come to this, where i have to use this disclaimer explicitly 😊
